2004 Anjeza Shahini - The image of you
The first Albanian entry for the ESC 2004 is chosen.
She had the talent, but she was lucky too. Anjeza, every time she got on
stage enchanted to a princess. She is born and grown, in one of the
quarters of Tirana. The fairy tale started already the year before, when she
heard on the news about a show that was going to find the beautiful
voices. The name of the show was "The Friday night fever
and Krasta show" (Ethet e se premtes mbrema dhe Krasta show). The
show was hosted indeed from Adi Krasta, the whom with this program
went close to the dreams of the teens.Without living much time to the
young artist to think, it was necessary to start a jury with
music specialists like Alfred Kacinari, Zhani Ciko, Shpetim Saraci and
others to decide if it was okay for her to continue the way into the music.
After not so long, Anjeza wore the magic shoe of a big singer. The fairy tale
ended here. She came as a child at the show and then managed to win at
the festival. It was the song "Dua te jem imazhi yt" (The image of you), with
lyrics of Agim Doci and the music of Edmond Zhulali who gave Anjeza
the victory of the 42.nd edition of the Festival of Song on the Albanian
Public Radio and Television.That is how Anjeza got to be the first the first
performer for Albania on the stage of the Eurovision Song Contest. With a
song that was cut of almost a minute and half off and a English
make-over, she managed to do quite well, as she became 4.th on the
semifinal night and then as number 7 with 106 points in the finals
